Having a home with a basement can have its advantages over homes that do not. One of those advantages is installing a special flooring substance in the form of laminate. This space can then be used for extra storage or just as an extra room in the house for entertainment purposes.

Step 1. Clear the basement area and clean all debris from it.
At this point you need to make sure that there are no water leaks that are so prevalent in basement areas. If there is, now is the time to repair it.
Step 2. Select the appropriate laminate flooring for your geographical area.
If there is high moisture content where you live then selecting a wood laminate design that has a glued edge interlocking design is best suited because of its moisture resistant qualities.
Step 3. Install subfloor.
This is considered one of the laminate flooring accessories that make it so nice to work with. This is actually a foam underlay that makes the floor soft to walk on. If there is any type of floor trim around the edges these
need to be taken off before the subfloor is installed. The subfloor is secured by plastic underlay tape and taping them together at the seams.
Step 4. Lay down laminate flooring.
Now that the floor is clean along with the subfloor the installation of the laminate can now be done. Start off by laminating the floor boards against one wall and working outwards from that point. Having a miter saw available will help in cutting out pieces for corners and oblong shapes that happen to be part of the configuration.
